THESE ARE ONLY A FEW BRAVE TESTAMENTS OF THE BENEFITS OF STEERING YOUR LIFE FROM A LIFE OF CHANCE TO THE REWARDS OF CHANGE
My name is Oliver Francis and for the past forty years, I have been a ward of the State of Louisiana prison system. On October 29th 2018, God bless me to receive a parole. Unfortunately, in August of 2018, I had a stroke. The left side of my body was severely affected. I was paroled to a nursing home in Jackson, LA and remained there March 1st, 2019.
As God directed my life, I was released from the care and guidance of parole project while in the nursing home. I was excited to start a new life. However, I left whatever clothing I had in the nursing home. Many people have assisted me with my transition back into society in just about every area needed.
My Episcopal brothers and sisters notified my friends at Community Lifestyle Institute of my dilemma. Their organization to help people re-enter society donated a gift certificate for me to shop for new clothing. I do thank God, and everyone for the assistance they have given me since I left prison.

I had been in jail most of my life, but for some reason God put Dr. Grant (of Community Lifestyle Institute) in my path and now I no way it was to better myself. She has helped me in so many ways, now I am working on my GED,
She notice I needed glasses which I had no ideal, she sent me to get glasses
through her referral program. Now I can see the world much clearer even see small writing, she has helped me find a job. It’s hard to find a job your record follows you for life. I feel I’m one of the bless ones whom God seeing wanted a Change but couldn’t get the start. It was always my record. She sent me to get my record clean and that helps me out a lot. She got me to where I can read, see, job- what more can you ask for she helps you through, she gave me that chance to live a normal life. I’m in school now and living like normal people. She help me face my worst fears in life. I’m happy living life on life terms. All because she seen something others couldn’t and that is I’m still human and we make mistakes. She help me see me and that I am somebody, encourage you that you can do anything and (I can’t) is not one of her best words to hear.
Now I don’t even use the word I can’t. I learn that prayer helps every morning.
